On My Way to You: A Wedding DJ's Journey to Performing at Your Venue

I have 10 years of experience as a wedding DJ. I happened to be updating wedding venues in my back-end system, and did a count of how many different venues I have performed at in the last decade. Care to take a guess? Take into account that I have stayed within a 50 mile radius of Eau Claire, Wisconsin for a majority of that time; including Chippewa Falls, Black River Falls, Osseo, Menomonie, Altoona, Cadott, etc. You get the point.
Take every wedding venue in that area and add those from the St. Croix Valley region. I was born in Hudson, WI and raised in Roberts and Hammond, WI. This area is still my home. I know every backroad with a barn, every field with a tent, every golf course, and every event center. You can also bet that I have danced on every dance floor out there (on and off the clock). So factor in towns like River Falls, New Richmond, Baldwin, Somerset, and across the border in Minnesota: Stillwater, Hastings, Woodbury, St. Paul, Minneapolis, and the entire Twin Cities surrounding areas.
Have a number in mind yet? Wait one more second. I also graduated from the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse. I lived in La Crosse for 4 years and have frequently returned to the Coulee Region for personal and professional reasons. I'll help you out here. There are around 20 wedding venues between La Crosse, La Crescent, and Onalaska alone. Of course I haven't performed at every single wedding venue in a given area. There are some that are more popular, and some that I prefer to work at over others.
With all the above in mind. Can you guess how many different wedding venues I have actually performed at? I keep a record in my back-end system of every wedding I have ever done, along with many details of that wedding. So I know for a fact that over the last 10 years, I have personally performed at... ready?
224 different venues! Click here to learn more about the St. Croix Valley wedding community of vendors, and which western Wisconsin and eastern Minnesota wedding venues I love providing DJ services at!
You wouldn't think that a wedding DJ having familiarity with a certain area or venue affects their performance, but let me tell you that it does! Any DJ that tells you otherwise is blowing smoke (and I don't mean onto the dance floor). The logistics of performing at a venue or in a city a DJ is completely unfamiliar with, versus knowing exactly what you're doing and where you're going, changes the level of stress we experience even before we begin to setup. The best wedding DJs have the ability to flip a switch and make it look like there's nothing wrong. However, being under stress before a performance even starts affects our performance stamina. The more comfortable we are in an environment, the more energy we can use in throwing the most amazing party of your life!
So along with all the wedding venues in cities I did not mention -- yes, Lambeau Field, 'humble brag' --, chances are I have been to the venue you're getting married at multiple times already. This means that I can help answer some of the questions you have about the venue you chose, from a vendor's point of view. If knowing this brings you a feeling of calm, then contact me right now for a free quote and no-obligation consultation. If you've read this far, I know we are a perfect match. Please don't wait! I only book one wedding a weekend, and another engaged couple will be reserving your date soon if you don't.
